Samsung Galaxy A7 ( 2017) and A5 (2017) launched in India at Rs. 33,490 and Rs. 28,990
Samsung has launched its new smartphones the Galaxy A7 (2017) and Galaxy A5 (2017) in India with new advancements and impressive features over the Galaxy A7 and A5 (2016 editions). The Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) is launched at a price of Rs. 33,490 and the Galaxy A5 (2017) is priced at Rs. 28,990. Both the smartphones will be available for purchase in the country from 15th March 2017 while they are already available for pre-booking with two colour options of black sky and sand gold.
The few highlights of these smartphones include an improved camera, water and dust resistance (IP68 rating) which is first in the ‘A’ series, premium metallic design and some Samsung specific features such as Samsung Pay, Samsung cloud storage and Secure folder.
Considering specifications, both the phones run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and are powered by a 1.9 GHz Octa-core Exynos 7880 processor coupled with 3 GB RAM. Both the smartphones come with the 16 MP camera with f/1.9 aperture on the rear as well as on the front. The camera app includes Food Mode and some more filters. Both the Galaxy A7 (2017) and A5 (2017) are Dual sim smartphones and come with 32 GB internal storage space, one can further expand it up to 256 GB using a micro SD card.
The Galaxy A7 (2017) and A5 (2017) sport a Full HD Super AMOLED display. They pack a fingerprint scanner below the screen and come with the USB Type-C port. Both the devices come with same regular sensors such as accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, magnetometer, and a proximity sensor. Other connectivity options such as 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.2 and NFC also remain the same.
As far as differences are concerned the major difference between the Galaxy A7 (2017) and Galaxy A5 (2017) are the screen size and battery. The Galaxy A7 (2017) comes with a screen size of 5.7 inches and the Galaxy A5 (2017) comes with a screen size of 5.2 inches. Battery wise, the Galaxy A7 (2017) contains a big 3600 mAh battery where as that of the Galaxy A5 (2017) is 3000mAh. The Galaxy A7 (2017) measures 156.8×77.6×7.9 mm while the Galaxy A5 (2017) measures 146.1×71.4×7.9 mm.
