Google’s LG Nexus 5X and Huawei Nexus 6P launched: Here are all the details
September! What a month it has been for gadget freaks. First IFA Berlin, followed by Apple’s event and now the Google’s event to end the month. Today, Google has finally launched their much-rumored Nexus smartphones at an event in San Francisco. Google surely seemed to have taken consumers need into their account and that’s why they have launched two Nexus smartphones – LG Nexus 5X and Huawei Nexus 6P in hope to satisfy different needs of different consumers.
The LG Nexus 5X and Huawei Nexus 6P both are distinct from each other, though they have some similarities. So first let’s check out the similar specs of the phones.
Both the flagship phones are the first ones to come up with the all new Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. The new Android 6.0 comes with many new features like Now on Tap, Voice interactions, App linking, etc. Its Doze feature helps users to save battery power of the phone by cutting down background activity after a set period of idle time. The smartphones also comes with Type-C USB port for faster charging and data transfer.
The LG Nexus 5X and Huawei Nexus 6P come with Nexus Imprint, a fingerprint scanner. The Nexus Imprint requires less than 600 milliseconds to recognize a fingerprint, and improves with each use. The new sensor is open to the entire ecosystem, allowing easy verification within third-party apps.
Another common feature of both the smartphones is the 12.3 megapixel rear camera. The Sony made sensor has 1.55μm pixels with laser autofocus, and 4K video recording capabilities. The cameras are focused to perform well in low light conditions and can also record the slow motion videos at 120 fps. The camera of both the phones can be activated by double tap on the power button.

Huawei Nexus 6P:
The Huawei Nexus 6P is a 7.3 mm thick full aluminum body smartphone. It flaunts a 5.7-inch 2560×1440 AMOLED display. It is powered by 64 bit Snapdragon 810 octa core processor coupled with 3 GB of RAM. It houses an 8 megapixel front facing camera with HDR+. The smartphone has dual front facing speakers and is packed with a 3450mAh battery. The device comes with three storage variants priced at – $499 for 32GB, $549 for 64GB and $649 for 128GB. The phone will be available in Frost White, Aluminum, and Graphite colors.
LG Nexus 5X:
The LG Nexus 5X features a 5.2-inch Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display. Under the hood, it has 64-bit Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor coupled with 2 GB of RAM. It comes with 5 megapixel of front camera and is backed by 2700mAh battery which is 20% larger than the previous Nexus 5. The LG Nexus 5X is priced at $379 for the 16GB model and $429 for the 32GB version. The device comes in Carbon Black, Quartz White, Ice Blue colors.
Both the Nexus phones are available for pre-order from the Google Store today, September 29 in Germany, Ireland, Japan, UK, and US and they will ship in October. However, there is no official word on the availability of these phones in India but Google said that the phones will be available in other countries in the next few weeks, and looking at the long festive season in India ahead, we can expect India to be on the list of next roll out.
