10 Best Android Phones under 15000 Rs (July 2015)
6. Micromax Canvas Knight 2:
Micromax has launched the next version of the popular Canvas Knight named as the Canvas Knight 2. The first thing to notice about the phone is its stunning design. The phone measures just 6.3 mm of thickness and it has an all metal and glass build as it has got Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on both the front and back of the phone while the bezels of the phone are metallic. This gives a premium design and look to the phone and at the same time it feels very good in the hands so, it scores full marks in design. When it comes to performance, the Knight 2 is powered by the powerful 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon Octa core 615 processor coupled with 2 GB RAM. This makes the performance of the phone very good, it runs smoothly without any lags. The 5 inch display of the phone comes with Amoled HD display well its good but seeing the tough competition, a Full HD screen would have done wonders for Micromax. The phone runs on the Android Lollipop 5.0 with nearly stock UI. It sports an impressive 13 MP rear camera which comes with Sony IMX214 CMOS sensor and the phone also comes with 5 MP front camera which comes with lots of modes to get a perfect selfie. The phone supports 4G and dual sim. It has 16 GB internal storage which is expandable upto 32 GB but the microSD card uses the sim 2 slot so you can either use the second sim or the microSD card at a time. The phone packs a 2260 mAh battery which is expected to deliver decent battery life. Overall, the phone packs decent features and a great design so, if you are looking for a greatly designed slim phone then the Canvas Knight 2 be a good choice. The older but powerful Micromax Canvas Gold with Full HD display is also available at this price.
[section label=”7. Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo”]
7. Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo:
It’s another Samsung phone in this list. Well what a comeback from Samsung, as Samsung has completely lost the grounds in this range as it hadn’t had a single good phone from over 6 months which featured consistently in the Top 5’s, now they have 2-3 in top 10. Talking about the S3 Neo, it is actually a very good device and another choice if you want to buy a good Samsung phone. It sports a more comfortable screen size of 4.8 inches and it has got a great display if you want a phone from a reputed international brand. It features a Super AMOLED HD display with 306 ppi pixel density. The camera and the battery life of the phone is not amongst the best but they are acceptable. The phone is very good on storage with its 16 GB internal and 64 GB expandable memory. Overall, the S3 Neo can be a good choice if you are looking for a better design and a comfortable screen size which is not too big.
[section label=”8. Sony Xperia T3″]
8. Sony Xperia T3:
This phone made a disastrous entry last year with a price tag of almost 27,000. Don’t know what Sony was thinking but they priced this phone much higher than their other phones which had better specs. Well the anger of people soon made them realize that a company can’t fool people. Now, the phone is priced under 15k, it’s still on the higher side when compared with the competition but these international brands will always charge a premium price. The Xperia T3 packs the usually beautiful and premium design of Sony, another thing noteworthy is that it’s just 7mm thick. It runs on the 1.4 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8228 Quad Core Processor which is decent and it also has 1 GB of RAM which makes the performance of the phone good. It sports a 5.3 inches HD screen turning out a 277 ppi pixel density so, the display is not amongst the best but is decent. The Xperia T3 has an 8 MP rear camera and like always, its good. But this phone may disappoint you if use front camera more often as it has only 1.1 MP front camera. It has a 2500 mAh battery which gives good battery backup. Overall, it has a very beautiful design and the phone can be a good buy for normal usage. At this price the Xperia M2 and the powerful Xperia ZR with 4.55 inches screen are also available.
[section label=”9. Meizu M1 Note”]
9. Meizu M1 Note:
Meizu, another Chinese brand entered India last month with a great phablet Meizu M1 Note. The phone packs some great specs at a very low price. Design wise the phone looks good and pretty much inspired by the iPhone 5C. It runs on the 64-bit Octa-core 1.7 GHz Mediatek MT6752 Processor coupled with 2 GB RAM and has a very good performance. It has a 5.5 inches Full HD screen with 403 ppi pixel density which is great, the screen is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It has a 13 MP rear camera with ƒ/2.2 aperture lens and Dual LED flash, it also has a 5 MP front camera. The quality of both the cameras is decent, the phone camera is very fast and clicks images instantly without any shutter lags. It runs Flyme 4.0 OS on top of the older Android OS, v4.4.4 (KitKat). The Flyme OS looks beautiful and comes with many features and options for customizations. The phone comes with 16 GB internal storage but a major drawback is that it can’t be expanded. It supports Dual sim and 4G. The 3140 mAh battery gives the phone a good battery backup. The phone looks great and powerful on paper and was launched to compete with the top phones in this range like the Asus Zenfone 2 & Xiaomi Mi 4i well, specifications wise it does that but other companies have established a better After Sales service in India and there is no clear information about the Meizu Service centres in India as of now. We mailed the company to find out more details about the service centres in India but unfortunately, the company din’t responded to our mail, looks like they are not serious when it comes to service! Overall, we can say that if you like the phone and can take some risks you can go with it but for most users, it will be better to see how the company reacts to user complaints & after sales service demands.

It sports a big 5.5 inches screen with Full HD resolution, the screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The phone has got decent 13 MP rear and 5 MP front cameras. With 3,000 mAh battery, its battery backup is also very good. It runs on top of Lenovo’s highly customized skin. The phone has also got the Android Kitkat update and runs pretty smoothly over it.
