6. Lenovo K3 Note:

It was the game changer phone when it was launched! The 10,000 Rs. segment offered phones with Octa core processor, 2 GB RAM, 5.5 inches screen with decent HD display, 2500 mAh+ batteries and all and these specs were still considered good at this price point. But Lenovo was determined to introduce great technologies at breakthrough prices, it launched the K3 Note which was the first phone to come with FHD display under 10,000 Rs, it certainly raised the bar high but, now it has got many rivals with FHD screen at the same price. Talking about the display, it is awesome with good viewing angles and offers great 401 ppi pixel density! When it comes to performance, the K3 Note runs on 64-bit Octa-core 1.7 GHz Mediatek MT6752 Processor coupled with 2 GB RAM which offers good performance and can handle most tasks smoothly, but it heats up a bit as well. If we talk about the design, the phone has good build quality but a simple design. The phone packs a 13 MP rear and 5 MP front camera and the picture quality of both the cameras is decent but not the best you will get at this price. The phone has got the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update and runs Vibe UI 3.0 which includes all the latest features of new Lenovo phones like the ‘TheatreMax’ for using with VR headsets. It is good on storage with 16 GB internal and 32 expandable memory options. The K3 Note supports dual-sim and 4G. And when it comes to another important aspect – the battery life, the K3 Note with its 2900 mAh battery offers a good battery life, which is also better than the similarly specced Yureka Plus. Overall, it is a very good powerful phone which offers a complete package but, it is now facing a tough competition from newly launched phones which have even better specs but, the K3 Note still delivers a good user experience and can be another good choice at this price. The newly launched Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus with 5 inches screen, aluminium body and almost similar specs like K3 Note can be a great choice if you are looking for a little compact phone. 7. Asus Zenfone 2 Laser ZE550KL:

Asus is on the roll in India. It has already got good taste of success with its Zenfone 2 line-up and to ride high on it, it has launched many new Zenfone 2 variants, starting right from 10,000 Rs. And we have got the Asus Zenfone 2 Laser ZE550KL at this price range. The phone comes with lots of interesting features but the most important of them is present in its name “Laser”, the 13 MP rear camera of the phone comes with laser auto-focus with focus speed as fast as 0.3 seconds, it also improves the image quality. The rear camera also comes with Super HDR, f/2.0 aperture, 5-element lens, zero shutter lag and low light mode. Overall, the rear camera has best picture quality. The phone also has a 85 degree wide-angle 5 MP front camera. It has a 5.5 inches of HD display with 267 ppi pixel density. The screen is protected with the latest Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Asus has paid quite a lot of attention on the design of the phone, the phone looks beautiful with its brushed metallic finish. The phone comes with a great 72% screen-to-body ratio and slim bezels. The volume buttons are placed at the back while the power key is placed on the top. If we talk about the performance, the phone is powered by 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 Quad Core Processor coupled with 2 GB RAM, which delivers a decent performance, it’s not the best at this price but it is good, the phone runs smooth and lag-free. It runs on Asus’s own ZenUI based on Android 5.0 Lollipop. It is a dual sim smartphone and supports 4G (LTE) on both the sim. It has got 16 GB internal storage which is expandable upto 32 GB. The 3000 mAh battery gives it a very good battery life, probably it is one of the phones with best battery life under 10000 Rs. Overall, it is a good stylish phone with great camera, decent performance and good battery life which makes it a very good package and a great buying choice if you are not after Full HD screen or high performance. The Asus Zenfone 2 Laser ZE500KL is also available in 5 inches screen size, choose it if you want a more comfortable phone. The newly launched Asus Zenfone Max (2016) is also priced at Rs. 9,999, it comes with Snapdragon 615 Octa Core processor and a huge 5,000 mAh battery, it is a very good phone but it weighs over 200 grams, so only go with it if you really need very large battery backup.

8. Samsung Galaxy On7:

To regain its lost grounds in the budget segment, Samsung has launched its new Galaxy On5 and On7 in India. The Galaxy On7 is the more powerful out of the two and makes a better proposition so let’s talk about it. Starting with the design, the Galaxy On7 has the typical Samsung design with plastic build. It has a leather like textured back panel and beautiful metal-like plastic edges on the sides, the build quality is decent. It sports a 5.5 inches TFT screen with HD resolution, turning out a 267 ppi pixel density. The display quality is decent but far better displays are available at this price. The Galaxy On7 is powered by a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 Quad Core Processor coupled with 1.5 GB of RAM and gives a good lag free performance. It features a 13 MP rear and 5 MP front camera and like other Samsung phones, the picture quality of both the cameras is good. The phone runs on Android v5.1 with Samsung’s own TouchWiz UI running on top of it. Samsung has revamped the Touchwiz UI, it is now optimized, looks beautiful and comes with less bloatware. The phone supports 4G on both the sim slots. It comes with 8 GB of internal storage which should have been atleast 16 GB, however it is expandable upto 128 GB via microSD card. A good thing about the phone is its big 3000 mAh removable battery, the phone is not very resource intensive and thus it delivers good battery backup. Overall, the Galaxy On7 packs all the necessary features & good cameras but in terms of performance it is far behind from what the competition is offering at the same price but, it still can be a good choice if you have normal usage and specially want a Samsung phone for its reliability and after sales service. The newly launched Samsung Galaxy J3 (6) with 5 inch HD Super Amoled display, Quad core processor, 1.5 GB RAM, 8MP & 5MP cameras and ‘S Bike Mode’ at Rs. 8990 can also be a good choice if you are looking for a 5 inches phone or if you really need the ‘S Bike Mode’.

9. Micromax Canvas 5:

Micromax has recently launched the flagship phone of its Canvas series, the Canvas 5. It looks beautiful and comes with a metallic frame on the sides and a leather like textured plastic back panel which is removable. The phone is slim and comfortable to hold and has a decent overall build quality. It sports a 5.2 inches Full HD display with 423 ppi pixel density and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, the display quality is very good. The Canvas 5 runs on the 1.3 GHz Mediatek MT6753 Octa Core Processor paired with 3 GB RAM and delivers good performance. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and the company has promised Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the phone. Micromax has installed lots of bloatware on the phone but most of them can be uninstalled. It features a 13 MP rear and 5 MP front camera and both come with a LED flash and deliver good picture quality. The camera app also comes with lots of settings and choices to let you customize your photos the way you want. It comes with a cool ‘Picture-in-Picture’ feature which clicks pictures with the front and rear camera at the same time in a single image. It is a dual sim smartphone with 4G support. The phone has 16 GB internal storage which can be expanded upto 64 GB with the help of a microSD card. It is backed by a non-removeable Li-Po 2900 mAh battery which delivers decent battery backup. Overall, the Micromax Canvas 5 packs decent set of features at a good price point, it can be another good buying choice. The YU Yureka Plus can be another good choice at this price. Also the new Micromax Canvas Evok and the Canvas Knight 2 are also good options from Micromax at this price.

10. XOLO Black (3 GB RAM):

The Xolo Black is Xolo’s most promising smartphone until now. If we talk about the design, the phone looks stunning, it has rounded corners, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 covers both the front and the back of the phone. On the back, the placement of  two cameras and the LED Flash in between them looks amazing, the power button & volume rockers are placed very nicely on the side of the phone, the power button also has breathing light for notifications which looks very stylish. The phone feels very premium and scores full marks in design. The XOLO Black sports a 5.5 inches Full HD display with 403 ppi pixel density and the display is awesome. It runs on 1.5 GHz Octa-Core 64-bit 2nd Gen Qualcomm  Snapdragon 615 Processor coupled with 3 GB RAM (XOLO has upgraded the RAM from 2 GB to 3 GB recently), it has good performance and the phone can handle mid level games well although it lags a little in heavy games. The best part of the phone is the dual camera setup on the rear. The Xolo Black has two rear cameras of 13 MP & 2 MP and both work simultaneously, the 13 MP camera captures the subject while the 2 MP camera is used to capture the Depth and the final image is the combination of both. The rear camera comes with features like fast focus (0.15 sec), Ubifocus™ (you can change the focus after clicking images) & ChromaFlash™ (snaps two shots, one with flash and one without). These features promise a lot and the picture quality is good but could have been even better. The 5 MP front camera also comes with front LED Flash. It runs on latest Android 5.0 Lollipop with beautiful HIVE UI on top of it. The phone has a 3200 mAh battery which gives good battery backup. Overall, the Xolo Black is a very good package, it has a great design and good features and can be another good buying choice. If you want a smaller phone, you can also go with the XOLO Black 1x with 5 inches screen.
