6. Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G:
Price cut!!! The Redmi Note has got a whooping 2,000 Rs. price cut and now it’s available at 7,999 Rs. The Redmi Note is the 5th good phone in this range which comes with 5.5 inches screen and 2 GB RAM. This was the 3rd launch of Xiaomi in the Indian Smartphone market and it is yet again a successful Xiaomi smartphone (A legal ban on Xiaomi in India has forced to stop the sale of the Octa Core version of Redmi Note but the 4G Variant of this phone is still available, so here we are considering the Redmi Note 4G). It runs on the Quad Core 1.6 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 Processor and 2 GB of RAM which delivers pretty good and fast performance. It sports a big 5.5 inches screen with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution and 267 ppi pixel density, well it’s not great but its good for 10000 Rs. It has got big numbers for the cameras. It features a 13 MP rear camera and 5 MP front camera, the camera quality is very good, one of the best at this price. The 3100 mAh battery gives a very good battery backup to the phone. The phone weighs 199 grams and is surely on the heavier side but it packs big screen and big battery so its justified. Overall, it offers pretty balanced equations with good performance, decent build quality and good battery and can be a very good buying choice especially if you are little low on budget, but if you want a dual sim phone stay away from it.

7. Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime:
Samsung is no doubt a great smartphone manufacturer respected worldwide but in last year, it has seen a great fall in sales in Indian market the reason being the absence of good phones in the 10,000 & 15,000 price range. In an attempt to regain the market Samsung had launched the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime last year at around 15,000 Rs. but it failed to create any revolution or magic. The reason being its poor hardware and features. Now, the phone is available around 10,000 Rs. and it still lacks the features to compete with the great new phones but, it still has got few things noticeable. First thing to notice is its selfie focused 5 MP front camera. We have seen many selfie focused smartphones from many brands and this is the one from Samsung and as expected the camera quality is very good. The Grand Prime features a 1.2 GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 410 processor with 1 GB of RAM which delivers good performance. It sports a 5 inches screen but one thing that disappoints is its weaker display of 540 x 960 pixels. It has got an 8 MP rear camera which is good. It has got good battery backup with the Li-Ion 2600 mAh battery. It runs on the Android v4.4.2 (KitKat). Overall, the Grand Prime can be a good choice for camera lovers and for those who need better after sales service.

In a series of new comeback launches from HTC, the recently launched Desire 526G looks like another promising phone. It wins you in the first impression with its beautiful design which is quite similar to the early generation HTC smartphones. But the specifications of the phone are even better. It sports an Octa-core 1.7 GHz Processor with 1 GB of RAM which makes the phone very smooth and lag-free. It has a 4.7 inches screen with a screen resolution of 540 x 960 pixels turning out 234 ppi pixel density. Well this is not amongst the best but if you are buying among HTC, Sony, Samsung in this range you have to satisfy with it only. The phone has good 8 MP rear camera and 2MP front camera and an LED flash at the back. It supports dual sim, has 8 GB internal storage which can be expanded upto 32 GB and has decent battery life with the 2000 mAh battery. Overall, it is a very good choice in this range, specially if you want one from a reputed international brand.

So,in this range you have got two goodt choices from Micromax, the Yureka YU offering better specs and bigger screen and the Canvas Nitro with 5 inches screen, both can be very good choice, you just have to decide what is your need. Micromax has also launched the new version of this phone the Micromax Canvas Nitro 2.

Overall, the phone has good performance and good build quality and it can be a good choice for anyone looking for a good phone around 10,000 Rs. among the reputed international brands but to be really honest, there is no point spending an amount as good as 10,000 Rs. and buying a phone like this just for the sake of brand, it is much better to go with the new Indo-Chinese brands as you will get the latest hardware and software without spending much. If you want a Sony phone only you can also buy the new Sony Xperia E4 with 5 inches screen but it’s priced a little higher and has no noteworthy improvements over the Xperia E3.
