[alert variation=”alert-error”]Comparison: Asus Zenfone 2 Laser Vs Lenovo K3 Note Vs Yu Yureka Plus: Which one is right for you?[/alert] [section label=”9. Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro”] [label variation=”label-danger”]New[/label]
9. Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro:
Samsung, in another attempt to maintain its position in the budget smartphone segment, has launched the new Galaxy J2 Pro, which boasts of some unique features like the Smart Glow and Turbo Speed Technology (TST). The Smart Glow feature is the LED notification ring surrounding the rear camera, its color can be customised for specific apps or individual contacts so, whenever someone calls you, you can identify the caller just by the color of the Notification ring. The smart glow feature also assists in taking selfies with the rear camera, when taking selfies with the rear camera, the notification ring illuminates if your face moves out of the frame. The Smart Glow, is a nice addition to the user experience. Talking about the Turbo Speed Technology, Samsung claims that due to it, the phone doesn’t hang and the apps load 40% faster compared to other phones in this range, although we do not completely agree with the company’s claim but, it surely does a better job than the similarly priced Samsung phones! When it comes to the design, the Galaxy J2 Pro has a typical Samsung design on the front side while, the back is little interesting this time but, with plastic all around, the phone doesn’t fell premium at all and the build quality is also average. The phone packs a 5 inch HD AMOLED display and has good display quality. Talking about the performance, it comes with 1.5 GHz Quad-Core Spreadtrum SC8830 Processor coupled with 2 GB RAM, which doesn’t impress much. It runs smoothly for normal usage most of the times but is not designed for gaming at all. The Galaxy J2 Pro features an 8 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front facing camera and both the cameras have average quality. It runs on the latest Android v6.0.1 Marshmallow with company’s TouchWiz UI running on top. Samsung has introduced few minor changes in the TouchWiz UI, now the app drawer comes with vertical scrolling, listing all apps at one page, it also includes notifications priority settings for the lock screen. It is a dual sim phone with 4G support, includes 16 GB internal storage which is expandable upto 128 GB and is backed by a 2600 mAh battery which gives good battery backup. It also includes Samsung’s S-Bike Mode and Ultra Data Saving Mode. Overall, the Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro comes with many gimmicky features which desperately try to hide one true fact, the phone in terms of its design, performance and camera lies much behind the competition at this price. So, only those with low to normal usage should think about going with it.
