After delaying the launch of their flagship phone once, Yu Televentures has finally announced its new smartphone dubbed as Yu Yunicorn at an event in New Delhi, India. The all metal unibody designed smartphone is priced at Rs. 14,999 and will be exclusively available on Flipkart. However, for the first month, it will be available at Rs. 12,999.
The Yu Yunicorn flaunts a 5.5 inch Full HD (1920 X 1080 pixels) 2.5D curved glass display. Under the hood, it has 64-bit octa-core Helio P10 processor, clocked at 1.8 GHz clubbed with Mali T-680 GPU and 4 GB RAM. It bears 32 GB of internal storage, which is further expandable up to 128 GB. The smartphone runs the company’s new Android on Steroids (AOS) UI based on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
The Yunicorn houses a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, HDR, and PDAF. It also boasts a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and includes a fingerprint sensor integrated into the physical home button, that unlocks the smartphone in just 0.2 seconds. The smartphone gets its juice from the massive 4000mAh battery that is rated to deliver 500 hours of stand-by time. It also has Around Yu 2.0 version that comes with Yu Wallet.
On the connectivity front, the smartphone offers 4G LTE,WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS. The Yu Yunicorn has a thickness of 8.15 mm and will be offered in Rush silver, Graphite and limited edition Rush Gold color variants. Registrations for the first flash will start at 2PM today on Flipkart.
