Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 still on the cards, will be launched in Q2 2018 with Snapdragon 632 processor

A post by the MIUI forum manager had rendered countless hearts broken, when they announced that, Xiaomi was not going to launch the Redmi Note 5, and instead the already launched Redmi 5 Plus will replace the smartphone. Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 4 was a huge hit and the best selling smartphone in India and since the launch of Redmi 5 and 5 Plus, fans had been waiting for Redmi Note 5 eagerly. With the announcement on the MIUI forum declaring that the Redmi 5 Plus is in-fact the much anticipated Redmi Note 5, had immensely disappointed the consumers.

But if the new reports coming from China are to be believed, Xiaomi will launch the Redmi Note 5 in Q2 2018, with yet unannounced Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 processor, which also happens to be the primary reason behind the delayed launch. If sources are to be believed, the developers at Xiaomi have been waiting for the Qualcomm people to announce their Snapdragon 632 processor. The Snapdragon 632, is being considered as a downgrade on the Snapdragon 636 processor. Qualcomm has earlier revealed that the new SoC will feature Cortex  A73 architecture and will be built according to the 14nm manufacturing process and will have a clock speed of mere 1.8 GHz.

Talking about the specifications of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, the smartphone may have a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The Snapdragon 632 SoC may be clubbed with 3 GB / 4 GB of RAM, and the device may have a maximum storage variant of up to 64GB. The Redmi Note 5 will have a dual camera setup at the back, along with a single front-facing camera. The device will run Android 8.0 Oreo based MIUI 9 out of the box, and it may be backed by a 4000mAh battery or a 3790mAh battery. As far as the prices of the Redmi Note 5 are concerned, it is expected to be priced between Rs. 11,000 to Rs. 15,000 on the similar lines of the Redmi Note 4.
