Xiaomi has been teasing the launch of its new MIUI 7 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop from few days on various social network platforms. Today, Xiaomi has launched the MIUI 7 along with the expected Redmi Note 2 and Redmi Note 2 Prime in China.
The Redmi Note 2 comes in two variants where both the phablets feature a 2.0 GHz Helio X10 octa –core processor and 16 GB internal memory with only difference where one has TDD-LTE + TD-SCDMA connectivity & priced at CNY 799 (approx. Rs 8,000) and another has TDD-LTE + FDD LTE connectivity & priced at CNY 899 (approx. Rs 9,000).
Where as the Redmi Note 2 Prime is powered by a 2.2 GHz Helio X10 octa-core processor with 32 GB internal storage and is priced at CNY 999 (approx. Rs 10,000).
Apart from these variations all the three phablets feature same specifications like they sport a 5.5 inch Full HD 1920×1080 pixels display. The smartphones equip a 2 GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 3020 mAh removable battery. The new phones run on the brand new MIUI 7 based on latest Android 5.1 Lollipop.
The Redmi Note 2 and Note 2 prime sport a 13 megapixel Samsung sensor at rear with 5 element lens, Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) and f/2.2 aperture. It has Ultra fast focus speed at 0.1 second. The smartphones also feature a 5 megapixel front facing camera for beautiful selfies.
The smartphones measures 152mm X 76mm X 8.25mm and weighs 160 g. For now the Redmi Note 2 & Note 2 Prime are available in bright and beautiful colors in China only. The phablets are expected to be launched globally on August 19th in New Delhi, India where Xiaomi will also lift the veil from its much hyped MIUI 7 which comes with advanced features like facial recognition feature for the photo gallery that helps in grouping photos by people.
