Last week, the Xiaomi Redmi 4 was spotted online and has been leaked a number of times in the past. Xiaomi on Friday finally launched the smartphone at an event in Beijing, China. Xiaomi also launched the Redmi 4 Prime and Redmi 4A smartphone.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Redmi 4 Prime sports similar metal unibody designs, hybrid dual-sim slots, and a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel. Both run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MIUI 8 on top. Both the smartphones pack a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, f/2.2 aperture, 1080p video recording and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture. Both are powered by a 4100 mAh battery with fast charging support. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS + GLONASS. The Redmi 4 offers Bluetooth v4.1, while the Redmi 4 Prime comes with Bluetooth v4.2. Both will be available in Gold, Grey, and Silver colour variants.
The Redmi 4 sports a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.4GHz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC, coupled with Adreno 505 GPU and 2GB of RAM. It comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. It measures at 141.3×69.6×8.9mm and weighs 156 grams.
On the other hand, the Redmi 4 Prime sports a 5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display and is powered by a 2GHz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, coupled with Adreno 506 GPU and 3GB of RAM. It bears 32GB of inbuilt storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4A, seen in the above image, flaunts a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 425 SoC, coupled with Adreno 308 GPU and 2GB of RAM. It comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card.
The Redmi 4A bears a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, a 5-lens system, and an f/2.2 aperture. On the front, it has a 5-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture. The smartphone is powered by a 3120 mAh battery with fast charging support. The Redmi 4A does not come with a fingerprint sensor.
The hybrid dual-sim smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MIUI 8 on top. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS/ A-GPS and Bluetooth v4.1. It measures at 139.5×70.4×8.5mm and weighs 131.5 grams. It will be available in Gold and Rose Gold colour variants.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Redmi 4 Prime have been priced at 699 Yuan (approx. Rs. 6,900) and 899 Yuan (approx. Rs. 8,900) respectively. Both the smartphones are now up for pre-order for their first sale on Monday i.e 7th November. The Xiaomi Redmi 4A has been priced at 499 Yuan (approx. Rs. 4,900). All the smartphones will go on sale in China starting from 11th November.
