Xiaomi Redmi 2 price slashed in India, now available for 5,999 Rs

Xiaomi is on a profit crunching strategy! First it slashed the price of the flagship Xiaomi Mi 4 then the Redmi Note 4G and yesterday it hinted at the price cut of the Redmi 2. And as expected, Xiaomi has slashed the price of the Xiaomi Redmi 2 by 1,000 Rs and the phone is now available at 5,999 Rs.

After the price cut, the Redmi Note 4G is available at 7,999 Rs. and it must have affected the sales of Redmi 2 as there was a difference of only 1,000 Rs. between these two phones. So, Xiaomi India had taken on various social networking platforms yesterday teasing about the price cut on Redmi 2. The image which was partially painted shows the new price of Redmi 2 and today they have officially announced it.

The Redmi 2 features a 4.7 inch HD IPS display at 1280 x 720 pixel resolution. The phone is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz is coupled with 1GB of RAM and Adreno 306 GPU. It has 8 GB of internal storage and expandable upto 32 GB via microSD card and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with MIUI 6.0 on top.

The dual sim (GSM +LTE) phone also sports an 8MP rear camera which offers Full HD recording with BSI sensor for quality low light and a 2MP selfie snapper and packs a 2,200mAh Li-lon Polymer battery.  The phone measures 67.2x134x9.4 mm and weighs only 133g.

At the end of day it’s a great price for such an awesome phone and one should definitely grab it.
