Xiaomi Mi Note 2 with edge-to-edge display to be launched in China on 25th October

After numerous leaks and rumours, Xiaomi seems all set to launch the successor of Mi Note, dubbed as ‘Mi Note 2’. The company has scheduled an event in China at the Peking University Gymnasium on October 25th, where it is expected to finally announce the smartphone. Xiaomi has also announced that Hong Kong-based actor Tony Leung will be the host for the event.

As per the leaked images on Weibo, Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will have an edge-to-edge display with no sensors and front camera on top and no navigation buttons at the bottom as well. It will have very thin bezel on all four sides. The images also show the smartphone running MIUI OS. These images have also put an end to the rumours of dual-edge display.

According to the previous leaks, Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is expected to be offered in two variants, one with 5.7-inch Full HD display, while other with 2K curved display. It may sport 12-megapixel dual rear cameras, 4000 mAh battery with fast charging support, fingerprint scanner, and ‘3D Touch’ display.

Furthermore, It is expected to be available in two storage variants viz. 6 GB RAM/ 64 GB storage and 6 GB RAM/128 GB storage costing, 2,999 yuan (approx. Rs. 30,000), and 3,499 yuan (approx. Rs. 35,400) respectively. It is expected to run on Android 7.0 Nougat and powered by Snapdragon 821 SoC.

However, exact specifications and pricing of the smartphone will be known at the launch event only i.e on 25th October. Stay tuned for more updates!
