As expected, Xiaomi has finally launched its flagship smartphone ‘Mi Note 2’ in Beijing, China at its Curved to Impress event. All the numerous rounds of leaks and rumours, have come to an end which also included the edge-to-edge display and dual-rear camera setup.
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 sports a 5.7-inch dual-curved OLED display with 77.2% screen-to-body ratio. It has a 3D curved glass on the front and back. It is powered by 2.35GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC coupled with Adreno 530 GPU.
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 packs a 22.56-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX318 sensor, Electronic image stabilization (EIS) and 4K recording. On the front, it has an 8-megapixel auto-focus front-facing camera. It comes in two variants – 4GB RAM with 64GB storage and high-end variant with 6GB LPDDR4 RAM and 128GB internal storage.
The smartphone is backed by a 4070 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 technology. It has 24 bit Hi-Fi sound support. It supports up to 600 Mbps 4G+ with 37 bands support in 6 types. The fingerprint sensor is mounted on the physical home button.
The smartphone comes in Piano Black and Glacier Silver colors. The 4GB RAM with 64GB storage variant is priced at 2799 Yuan (approx. Rs. 27,600) and the high-end variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at 3299 Yuan (approx. Rs. 32,560). There is an another 6GB/128GB variant with Global LTE support priced at 3499 Yuan (approx. Rs. 34,550). Xiaomi has also launched a new VR headset called as ‘Mi VR’ with a remote for 199 Yuan (approx. Rs. 1,960).
