Xiaomi’s Mi Mix 2 is again one of the exciting and fairly rumoured smartphone to look up for this year. The Mi Mix 2 has been up with a few leaks previously that has gained attention of many. There is yet another news about the smartphone but this time, it is a confirmation from the CEO of Xiaomi, Lei Jun that the Mi Mix 2 will be arriving later this year.
The CEO of Xiaomi, Lei Jun, apparently posted the information on Chinese microblogging site Weibo saying that the successor of Mi Mix will launch soon and could debut sometime in the second half of the year. This certainly indicates that the smartphone is already in the making and might as well be the next flagship from Xiaomi.
The Mi Mix 2 first came into the talks when, the founder and CEO of Xiaomi, Lei Jun and renowned French designer Philippe Starck earlier confirmed that a state-of-the-art phone development was in progress. The reports also suggested that the Mi MIX 2 will offer a 93 percent screen-to-body ratio with a curved AMOLED display rather than using the LCD display like that of its predecessor.
Talking about the leaked specifications of the smartphone, it is said to sport a 6.4 inch QHD (2540 x 1440 pixel) AMOLED display and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor clocked at 2.45 GHz which is quite possible with recently launched Mi 6 bearing the same. The device is speculated to come in three different variants with 4 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage, 6 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage and 8 GB RAM along with 256 GB internal storage. The phablet will run on MIUI 9 based on Android 7.0 Nougat
Mi Mix 2 is rumoured to hold a 19 MP rear camera and a 13 MP front facing camera. For connectivity, there will be 4G, dual-sim support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, A-GPS and Glonass. The onboard sensors might include Ambient Light Sensor, Gravity Sensor and Proximity Sensor. The smartphone is also rumoured to bear an on-screen fingerprint scanner, most probably same as that of the Mi 6. The device will pack a 4,500 mAh battery for its powering.
