Xiaomi Mi Max 2 launch confirmed on May 25, to come with 5,000 mAh battery

Xiaomi has finally announced the launch date of its much rumoured and awaited Mi Max 2. The smartphone will be coming as a successor of Mi Max and is going to be unveiled on 25 May in China. Xiaomi Mi Max 2 has been fairly up in the rumour mill and was speculated to launch last month along side the flagship Mi 6.

Xiaomi has launched a dedicated website specially for Mi Max 2, where it is teasing the smartphone for the launch in next week. The website is also emphasising on some of the highlighting features of Mi Max 2 such as a massive 5,000 mAh battery. The smartphone will be going on sale in China initially and will hit the shelves in India and other markets thereafter.

Xiaomi Mi Max 2 was recently up with a leaked images which showed the smartphone in stunning Gold color, bearing a metal uni-body. The images also showed the rear panel of smartphone where the camera is placed on the top right corner with a dual LED flash besides it and a fingerprint scanner. The leaks also suggested the availability of a 3.5 mm jack, an IR blaster and a Type-C USB port.

Talking about the rumoured specifications of Mi Max 2, the smartphone is said to sport a 12 MP rear camera with Sοny IMX378 sensor and a 5 MP selfie shooter. The device is expected to come with a 6.4-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixel) display and will run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with MIUI (version unknown) on top. The smartphone is speculated to have 4 GB/ 6 GB RAM with 64 GB /128 GB internal storage options. Previous reports also suggest a Snapdragon 625 processor under the hood. The smartphone is expected to come at a starting price of around 1,499 Yuan (Rs. 14,000 approx) which will vary depending upon the variant.

  • What exactly is the point of SD 625 with 6 gigabytes of ram, it's still going to be a mediocre device, performance-wise.
