Xiaomi Mi 6 new variant with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage launched in China

Earlier this year in April, Xiaomi launched two variants of Xiaomi Mi 6, one with 6 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage and another 6 GB RAM with 128 GB internal storage variant. Xiaomi has now launched a new variant with 4 GB of RAM in China. Except for the change in RAM, the phone is identical to the previously launched variants in terms of hardware and software. This new variant is priced at RMB 2,299 (approximately Rs. 28,100) and it will go on sale from November 11 in China.

In terms of specifications, the phone remains same with a four-sided 3D glass design, featuring a 5.15-inch full HD display having resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The front and back of the phone is covered by glass which makes the phone extremely attractive. The phone has Stainless Steel frame to provide rigidity. The Mi 6 is powered by Snapdragon 835 processor clubbed with Adreno 540 GPU. It has 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage.

For camera enthusiasts, the phone sports dual camera setup at the back. Both the sensors are 12 MP shooter with one being a wide-angle sensor and other a telephoto lens with capability of 2X lossless zoom. There is an 8 MP front camera for selfies and video calling.

In terms of connectivity, the smartphone supports 4G network with VoLTE and offers Dual SIM, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/ A-GLONASS, NFC and USB-Type C. The phone supports 2.2 dual WiFi technology which helps for better and wider connectivity. The phone houses a 3350 mAh battery. Xiaomi has removed 3.5 mm headphone jack from the phone, so audio capabilities are handled by USB Type – C only.

The Mi 6 has done quite well in China, it has been popular from the day it is launched. The same level of excitement can be seen in India as well, with Xiaomi fans eagerly waiting for the Mi 6 to arrive in India. Last year, with its predecessor Mi 5, the company only launched the 32 GB variant in India and despite Xiaomi officials accepting that it was a mistake to not launch the 64 GB variant in the Indian market, where the phone did well, it seems that the company has not learnt the lesson and has still not introduced the much awaited Mi 6 in the country. Hope the company has some plans left to launch it in India. Fingers crossed!
