A week ago, we covered the AnTuTu leak of the Xiaomi Mi 5s and today, Xiaomi has sent out invites for a launch event on September 27 at China National Convention Center, Beijing. The teaser image features a big S which hints at the leaked and rumoured Xiaomi Mi 5s flagship.
There have been a lot of leaks and rumours about Xiaomi ditching the physical home button and bringing Qualcomm’s Sense ID ultrasonic fingerprint sensor that will be present beneath the glass. However, according to certain leaked images, Mi 5s sports a circular home button much like the iPhones which may rule out the under glass fingerprint scanner.
As we know by now, the Xiaomi Mi 5s sports a 5.15-inch Full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection with a 3D touch feature. It packs Snapdragon 821 SoC clocked at 2.4 GHz and Adreno 530 GPU. This powerful processor is paired with 6 GB of RAM.
It sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, Phase Detection Auto-focus (PDAF), Optical Image Stabilization OIS (4-axis), dual-LED (dual tone) flash and 4K video recording. On the front, it sports a 4 UltraPixel camera, with f/2.0 aperture, 1/3″ sensor size, 2µm pixel size and 1080p video recording. It comes with 256 GB of inbuilt storage with no MicroSD card slot.
The Xiaomi Mi 5s runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with MIUI 7.0 on top. It is powered by a 3490 mAh battery along with Qualcomm’s Fast Charge 3.0 support. Other connectivity options include 4G LTE with VoLTE support, WiFi 802.11 (dual-band), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC, USB 3.0 Type-C port.
