Today, at an event in Beijing, Xiaomi launched the much awaited flagship smartphone Mi 5s and along with that it also launched the ‘Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus’ flagship which is a bigger version of the prior. Mi 5s Plus is not just large in screen size but it also features some high-end features.
The Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus sports a 5.7-inch 2.5D curved glass Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display. It also has a full metal unibody design with just 7.95 mm thickness. It is powered by a 2.35 GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 821 64-bit processor clubbed with Adreno 530 GPU. It also comes in 64 GB and 128 GB storage variants but with 4 GB and 6 GB LPDDR4 RAM respectively.
The USP of Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus is the dual camera setup on the back. It packs dual 13-megapixel rear cameras with Sony IMX258 sensors, of which one sensor captures in monochrome mode while another sensor in RGB mode. It has dual-tone LED flash, Phase-Detection Auto-Focus (PDAF), 120fps slomo at 720p and 4K video recording. While on the front it sports a 4-megapixel camera with 2um pixels, f/2.0 aperture, 80-degree wide-angle lens and 1080p video recording.
The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MIUI 8.0 on top. It is backed by a bigger battery of 3800 mAh with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support. The fingerprint sensor is mounted on the back. Other connectivity options include 4G LTE with VoLTE support, WiFi 802.11 (dual-band), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C.
Like the Mi 5s, the Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus also comes in Gold, Dark Grey, Silver and Rose Gold colors. It is priced at 2299 Yuan for the 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage variant and 2599 Yuan for the 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage variant in China. It will also go on sale along with Mi 5s starting from September 29 in China.
