Today, Vodafone has announced its plans regarding the launch of 4G services that will begin in December with its release in Mumbai. The company talked about launching the first stage of 4G services in important centers that comprises of cities like Kochi, Kerala, Trivandrum and Kozhikode.
Mumbai produces about 30% of the data revenues for Vodafone India, being one of the top data markets for the company in India. It has partnered with leading global technology infrastructure service providers for the rollout of the 4G network. Vodafone India has already performed the rollout of about 1,000 sites in the last six months.
The company has also invested about Rs. 500 crore in Mumbai itself. The testing of 4G services have been commenced successfully as stated by the company.
Ishmeet Singh business head-Mumbai, Vodafone India, added ‘To further strengthen this position, Vodafone is investing heavily in high capacity fibre or backhaul to significantly increase internet connectivity, which will benefit all its data subscribers,”.
