Vivo Xplay5, World’s first phone with 6 GB RAM launched

Vivo has announced its flagship phone of the year, vivo Xplay5 at an event in China. The full metal unibody smartphone is offered in Champagne Gold and Rose Gold color variants and will be available from March 8 in China.

The Vivo Xplay5 comes in two variants, Vivo Xplay5 Ultimate Edition and Vivo Xplay5. The Ultimate Edition variant is powered by quad-core Snapdragon 820 64-bit processor, coupled with Adreno 530 GPU and 6 GB DDR4 RAM. On the other hand, Vivo Xplay5 features an Octa-core Snapdragon 652 processor, paired with Adreno 510 GPU and 4 GB DDR4 RAM.

Other specifications on both the variants are similar like, it flaunts a 5.43-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) Super AMOLED dual curved edge display with Corning Gorilla glass protection. It offers 128 GB internal storage and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The Vivo Xplay5 sports a 16 megapixel Sony IMX298 rear sensor with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, and PDAF. It also boasts an 8 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.4 aperture. It is packed with 3600mAh battery with dual-charging chip for fast charging and also a fingerprint scanner at rear panel that can unlock the phone in just 0.4 seconds.

The Xplay5 is a dual Sim smartphone that offers connectivity options like 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS. It measures 153.5 X 76.2 X 7.59mm and weighs 167.8g. The vivo Xplay5 Ultimate Edition is priced at 4288 Yuan (approx. Rs. 44,400) and the lower variant of phone is priced at 3698 Yuan (approx. Rs. 38,310).

However, its availability outside Chinese market is yet unknown.
