Vivo V5s with 20 MP front camera and 4 GB RAM launched in India at Rs. 18,990

Vivo has launched its latest smartphone ‘Vivo V5s’ in India. The smartphone comes as a successor of Vivo V5 which was launched last year and holds almost similar specifications with a few upgrades. The Vivo V5s is priced at Rs. 18,990 and will be available for sale from May 6th, both via online and offline stores, while it is up for pre-bookings from today it self. The smartphone is available in Matte Black and Crown Gold color options.

The specifications of the Vivo V5s as mentioned earlier, resemble to its predecessor Vivo V5. The smartphone sports a 5.5 inch HD (720 x 1280 pixels) IPS display with 2.5D curved glass and Gorilla Glass protection on top. Under the hood, the device is powered by a 1.5 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor along with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage which can be further expanded up to 256 GB via microSD card.

The Vivo V5s runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based Funtouch 3.0 OS which, according to the company is one of the upgrade as the previous version i.e the Vivo V5 had Funtouch 2.6 OS.

Coming towards the camera department, which is the major highlight of smartphone, it holds a 13 MP rear camera with PDLF and LED flash along with a mammoth 20 MP front camera for detailed selfies, living up to its reputation of selfie centric smartphone. The company emphasises the ‘Moonlight Glow’ flash coupled with the front camera to provide high quality selfies even in low light. Also, another addition is the Beauty 6.0 app that automatically removes blemishes and wrinkles for a flawless selfie.

The Vivo V5s comes with AK 4376 Hi-Fi audio chip to further increase the audio and music quality on the device. There is a fingerprint scanner mounted on the home button which, as per the company is water-proof and has a quick response time of 0.2 sec. The smartphone houses a 3,000 mAh battery along with 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, micro-USB with OTG, GPS/ A-GPS, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack as connectivity options. The on-board sensors include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, proximity sensor, and a virtual gyroscope. The device measures 153.8 x 75.5 x 7.55 mm and weights 154g.
