The micro blogging site Twitter announced its Moment curation tool to track live events a year ago in October. Until now, the moments were created by only Twitter employees and certain publishing partners. However, last month the feature was extended to a select number of brands and certain users as well, but not for everyone.
Finally, on Wednesday, Twitter announced that it is rolling out the Moment curation tool for everyone. For now, the feature is limited to desktop version only, but it will soon come to mobile apps also. The company made the announcement by a tweet, but obvious, along with a small video to get you started.
So, now you can create your own moment by clicking the ‘Create new Moment’ button on your profile page. That takes you to a tool where you can name your Moment and gather your tweets. You can choose tweets from your favourites (tweets you’ve liked), search by account or keywords, or simply add link of your tweets. After that you can set a cover image, pulling it from one of the tweets or uploading it yourself. Once you’re done, you can tweet your Moment out to your friends and followers.
Moments allows users to keep a tab of current events in real-time and surfaces important tweets, photos and video about a particular event. Twitter has been improving its platform for sometime now and introducing new features as well to increase its user base. Few days ago, Twitter revamped its 140-character limit too.
