Facebook users have been asking for ‘Dislike’ button from a long time, now Facebook is finally going to give its users the Dislike button.
During a Q&A session held at Facebook’s headquarters in Menlo Park, California, Zuckerberg said “I think people have asked about the dislike button for many years, Today is a special day because today is the day I can say we’re working on it and shipping it.”
The Facebook CEO explains that he’s avoided making a “Dislike” button for a while because he doesn’t want Facebook to turn into a Reddit-style forum where people can upvote or downvote posts. The ‘Dislike’ button is introduced because people want to express the empathy, said the 31-year-old CEO.
The iconic ‘Like’ button which was introduced back in 2009 was first known as awesome. However it is still unclear what ‘Dislike’ button will be called.
