The price of Sony’s premium smartphone, the Sony Xperia XZ has been sliced by Rs. 8000 and it is now priced at Rs 41,990 on the official website of Sony. In-spite of being launched for a price of Rs. 51,990, the smartphone was kept at a price of Rs. 49,990 when it went for sale in October last year. And if that’s not enough, Amazon India and Flipkart are already selling the smartphone at a further lower price of Rs. 39,990. The phone is available in the same three color options i.e forest blue, mineral black and platinum.
The main specifications of the Sony Xperia XZ include a 5.2 inch Full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display coupled with Sony’s in house display technologies. It runs on a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor along with 3 GB RAM. For storage, it has got 64 GB internal memory which can be extended up to 256 GB via micro-SD card.
The camera of Xperia XZ is one of the biggest stand-out’s of the phone. It has 23 MP rear camera backed by 6-element f/2.0 aperture Sony G lens with three different camera sensors which ensures ultimate photography. It also packs a 13 MP wide angle front camera for larger selfies. The smartphone comes with IP68 certification which makes it water and dust resistant.
The connectivity options of the smartphone includes Dual Sim, 4G LTE, NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS along with the USB Type-C port and 3.5 mm jack. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and is also upgradable to Android 7.0 Nougat. The smartphone holds a 2900 mAh battery and supports quick charge 3.0 fast charging.
There is no confirmation whether the price cut is temporary or permanent and for how long the price cut will remain. This price cut could also be a way to step-up in the competition considering the launch of new smartphones this year.
