Sony unveiled the Xperia X Compact earlier this month at IFA 2016 and soon after the handset was announced it started taking pre-orders in Europe. Now, customers in the United States can also pre-order the Xperia X Compact smartphone. Interested customers can pre-order this handset via Amazon.com which is selling it unlocked and off-contract at a price tag of $ 499.99. However, Amazon is offering a $ 50 credit on checkout for pre-orders only.
As many of you probably know by now that the US version of the Xperia X Compact comes with a disabled fingerprint sensor. However, if you really want this feature, then you can certainly enable it by flashing a different ROM.
As far as specifications are concerned, it sports a 4.6-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) Triluminos Display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The Xperia X Compact is powered by 64-bit hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor clocked at 1.8 GHz and coupled with Adreno 510 GPU and 3 GB RAM. It comes with 32 GB of internal memory which is expandable up to 256 GB via MicroSD card.
On the camera front, it sports a 23-megapixel rear shooter with Exmos RS sensor, 1/2.3″ sensor, f/2.0 lens, Predictive Hybrid AF, 5-axis stabilization, and 1080p video recording. It has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with 1/3.06” Exmor RS sensor and 1080p video recording.
The Xperia X Compact runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with a planned upgrade to Android 7.0 Nougat. It is backed by a 2700 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 technology for fast-charging. It supports USB Type-C port with 4G LTE connectivity.
The smartphone comes in Universe Black, White, and Mist Blue colour variants. It will be released in the US on September 25th. However, there are no updates on Indian launch of this smartphone as of now.
