Sony has announced a pair of its new selfie focused smartphones Xperia C5 Ultra and Xperia M5 with a common feature i.e a whooping 13 megapixel front-facing camera with Sony’s Exmor RS sensor. The another common feature which both the phones share is a 16GB of internal memory expandable up to unbelievable 200 GB via microSD card.
The Xperia C5 Ultra features a 6-inch Full HD IPS display supported by Sony Mobile Bravia Engine 2 with really thin bezels on the side. It is powered by 1.7 GHz 64-bit octa-core MediaTek (MT6752) processor with ARM Mali760 GPU and coupled with 2GB of RAM. Under the hood it has 2930mAh battery that claims up to two days battery life.
The Xperia C5 Ultra houses a 13 megapixel Sony Exmor RS sensor on both front and the rear ends with LED flash. Being a selfie focused smartphone it also has 22mm focal length for the front camera. It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop and measures 164.2×79.6×8.2mm and weighs 187 grams. The Xperia C5 Ultra comes in three color variants – black, white and a glossy soft mint.
On the other hand, The Xperia M5 flaunts a smaller 5 inch Full HD (1080×1920 pixels) display but with better specifications in hardware when compared to the Xperia C5 Ultra as it is powered by 64-bit octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 (MT6795) processor clocked at 2GHz and paired with 3GB of RAM. The smartphone packs a 2600mAh battery. It will also run on Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Sony Xperia M5 sports a 21.5 megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and offers 5x image zoom, 4K video recording, image stabilizer, and some other incredible features. On the front it sports a 13 megapixel snapper but unlike Xperia C5 Ultra it is without LED flash.
Sony, hasn’t revealed the pricing of both the smartphones as of yet. The two smartphones will be available in single-sim and dual sim variants in selected target markets from the mid-August.
