Samsung’s First Tizen Smarthone Launched In India At Rs. 5,700

Samsung has launched its First Tizen OS based smartphone – “Samsung Z1” in India. It has been priced at Rs. 5,700 and will be available in Black, White and Wine Red colour variants.

Tizen is an open source operating system. Its main feature is its compatibility with multiple mobile platforms; which means that applications made with the Tizen OS is still compatible with other OS like IOS and Android. This feature is very attractive to many developers. Tizen will have to compete with OS giants like IOS and Android which are the top grossing OS at present.

Tizen OS is backed by Samsung and other associations including Intel. Tizen OS is already being used in company’s wearables and Televisions. Tizen OS may take some time to emerge as a good OS in the smartphone market.

Samsung Z1 is a low-end smartphone with adequate features. It sports a 4-inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) PLS display. It runs Tizen 2.3 OS and is powered by a 1.2 GHz A7 dual-core processor coupled with 768 MB RAM.

Samsung Z1 features a 3.1 MP rear Camera with LED Flash and a VGA front Camera. It has 4 GB of internal storage and expandable via MicroSD upto 64 GB. It has a 1,500 mAh battery.

Samsung Z1 will offer consumers free access to music, movies and TV content on Club Samsung and via partners such as Hungama, nexGTV and Box TV. Aircel and Reliance are also offering 500MB of free 3G data per month for six months with the Samsung Z1. The phone showcases a range of apps as it is capable of running Android apps.

Being a new OS in the market, its important for Tizen to provide users with range of apps and great user friendliness. Samsung Z1 seems to meet the entertainment factor for users with such exciting offers.
