Korean electronics major Samsung Electronics will launch only 4G enabled smartphones in India. All the smartphones, including the entry-level will be 4G devices only.
According to latest GfK report for August 2016, the company has 48.7% share in the smartphone market in terms of value.
There is huge conversion happening from feature phones to smart phones at the entry-level. This migration will continue. All the future launches, including entry-level segment, will have 4G facilities and we will sell 4G devices. But at the same time, there will be certain set of feature phones users because of price points.

Referring to the Note 7 fiasco, the Vice President said that globally Samsung has announced discontinuing of manufacturing and sales of the product. In India, those who has bought the phone from outside the country will get a refund for the product. Galaxy Note 7 was supposed to be launched in India last month. All the pre-bookings, which were made for the phone will be converted into Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.
Samsung expects to gain the market share in the current year on the back of new launches.
