Samsung Galaxy Note 8 to launch on 26 August in New York: Report

Samsung’s next flagship Galaxy Note 8 is apparently in making and perpetual leaks about the smartphone from a while are creating even more excitement. Earlier it was reported that the Galaxy Note 8 could be launched before the iPhone 8. Falling in-line with that report, we now have a fresh leak which claims that the smartphone could most probably be launched on 26th August in an event in New York.

According to a report on Naver, the South Korean tech giant Samsung, will unveil its upcoming flagship Galaxy Note 8 in an event in New York on 26 August. The report citing a Samsung official states that, “Samsung Electronics plans to hold a launch event in New York City for its next Galaxy Note smartphone in the second half of August.”

Samsung was previously rumoured to launch the Galaxy Note 8 at IFA 2017 in Berlin, an annual tradeshow which takes place in September. However, the company now seems to have changed its plan to avoid a possible clash with Apple who also launches its smartphone in September, which this year could be the iPhone 7s/ 7s Plus or the iPhone 8.

Apart  from the possible launch date, the report also notes that the handset will sport a 6.3-inch Infinity Display, and come with dual rear camera, Bixby, as well as a slightly upgraded S-pen. Fingerprint sensor is on the back situated centrally which might as well be true as a while ago it was reported that the Galaxy Note 8 will not hold an in-display fingerprint sensor and also relates to leak which shows the same.

Coming down to the previously leaked specifications, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 as mentioned in the recent report as well, is said to sport a 6.3-inch display, most probably with QHD resolution. The device could be powered by a Snapdragon 835 or an Exynos SoC along with 6 GB RAM and 256 GB internal storage. The previous leaks also suggest that the dual camera setup will consist of a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens supporting dual photodiode and a 13-megapixel telephoto lens. The report also states that it will support 3X optical zoom, dual 6P lenses and dual OIS as well.
