There is not much time left for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 smartphone to be unveiled at the ‘Galaxy Unpacked’ event on 23rd August. While there were quite a few leaks here and there regarding the specifications of the smartphone, we now have a new leak revealing the entire specification details, giving us a precise look further.
After posting the press renders of Galaxy Note 8, the tipster Evan Blass, is now up with the detailed specifications of the smartphone. As per the report on VentureBeat, the Galaxy Note 8 is said to sport a 6.3-inch QHD+ (1440 x 2960 pixel) Super AMOLED display which will be slightly wider than the Galaxy S8. The smartphone will be more squared-off from the corners as compared to the Galaxy S8 so, inspite of having the same aspect ratio of 18.5:9, the display will stretch a bit more from the corners.
The Galaxy Note 8 is speculated to be powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 9 Series 8895 processor globally, and another variant powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 will arrive in the US, following the same route as that of Galaxy S8. The device will be coming with 6 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage (UFS 2.1) which is expandable via microSD. The smartphone is expected to run on Android 7.1 Nougat.
Coming down to the imaging department, falling in line with the previous leaks, the Galaxy Note 8 as per the report will hold a dual camera setup at the rear with both 12 MP sensors. The primary sensor is a wide angle one with f/1.7 aperture and dual-pixel autofocus, while the other is the telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture which provides 2x optical zoom. There will also be an 8 MP front-facing camera with f/1.7 aperture, auto-focus and wide-angle lens.
The smartphone will pack a 3,300 mAh battery with quick charging support which can be charged either wirelessly or using the USB Type-C port. The Galaxy Note 8 will hold IP68 certification making it water and dust proof. Although not mentioned in the report but, the smartphone is expected to come with an Iris scanner similar to the Note 7, a face recognition sensor and a heart rate sensor.
Prior to this, Venture Beat had reported that the Galaxy Note 8 will be the most expensive smartphone from Samsung and and will cost around €1,000 (Rs. 72,000 approx) in Europe. To get things confirmed we’ll have wait till 23rd August when the smartphone launches.
