The South Korean giant, Samsung has launched two new selfie-focused smartphones Galaxy J5 & Galaxy J7 in India. After announcing the smartphones in China last month, Samsung has launched the two budget friendly devices today at a launch event in New Delhi. Both the phones will be to buy on Flipkart from 24th July and the pre-bookings are opening from today 4 PM.
The Galaxy J5 priced at 11,999 Rs., is a lower end handset among the two features a 5-inch (1280×720) HD super AMOLED screen powered by a 64-bit quad-core snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2GHz with Adreno 306 GPU, and packs a 2600 mAh battery and supports 8 GB internal memory. The Galaxy J5 measures 142x73x8.5mm and weighs 149 grams.
Whereas the Galaxy J7 is priced at 14,999 Rs. It sports a 5.5-inch (1280×720) HD super AMOLED screen powered by a 1.5 GHz Samsung Exynos 7580 processor with Mali-T720 MP2 GPU, it is packed with a 3000 mAh battery and supports 16 GB internal memory. The smartphone measures 152.4×78.6×7.5mm and weighs 171 grams.
Both the smartphones have 13 megapixel of rear camera with autofocus and LED flash and 5 megapixels of selfie snapper with LED flash. The Android 5.1 Lollipop based smartphones runs TouchWiz UI on top of it and houses 1.5 GB of RAM. The dual sim phones are expandable up to 128 GB though SIM 2 slot cum microSD slot. Apart from 4G, connectivity option includes 3G, Bluetooth v4.1, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS, Glonass and Micro-USB.
Available in Black, White and Gold color variants the Galaxy J5 and J7 look promising in Samsung’s budget line-up. Let’s see how they perform.
