Samsung Galaxy A (2017) series water resistant smartphones announced

Samsung has officially unveiled its Galaxy A (2017) series, which include the Galaxy A3 (2017), Galaxy A5 (2017), and the Galaxy A7 (2017) smartphones, just ahead of the CES 2017. All three smartphones will be available in Russia from this month and globally in coming weeks.

The Galaxy A (2017) series smartphones come with upgraded features as compared to their predecessors. All three smartphones sport premium design with metal frame and 3D glass back panel. The smartphones come with IP68 dust and water resistance and now support for up to 256GB microSD cards for storage expansion. A fingerprint scanner on the home button, fast charge support, USB Type-C port, Always on Display, Samsung Pay (with both NFC and MST compatibility), Samsung Cloud, and Secure Folder are some of the other added features.

All three Galaxy A (2017) series smartphones run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, come in dual-SIM options and connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.2 and NFC.

The Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017) sports a 4.7-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) Super AMOLED display. It is powered by a 1.6GHz Octa-core Exynos 7870 SoC, coupled with 2GB of RAM. It comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage that is expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card.

The Galaxy A3 (2017) packs a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, an f/1.9 aperture and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It is backed by a 2350mAh battery and measures at 135.4×66.2×7.9mm.

The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) sports a 5.2-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) Super AMOLED display. It is powered by a 1.9GHz Octa-core Exynos 7880 SoC, coupled with 3GB of RAM. It comes with 32GB of inbuilt storage that is expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card.

The Galaxy A5 (2017) packs a 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, an f/1.9 aperture and a 16-megapixel camera with same aperture on the front as well. It is backed by a 3000mAh battery and measures at 146.1×71.4×7.9mm.

Lastly, the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) sports a 5.7-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) Super AMOLED display. It is also powered by a 1.9GHz Octa-core Exynos 7880 SoC coupled, with 3GB of RAM. It comes with 32GB of inbuilt storage that is expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card.

The Galaxy A7 (2017) also packs a 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, an f/1.9 aperture and a 16-megapixel camera with same aperture on the front as well. It is backed by a 3600mAh battery and measures at 156.8×77.6×7.9mm.

All three smartphones will be made available in Black Sky, Gold Sand, Blue Mist, and Peach Cloud colour variants. However, there is no word on the pricing of these smartphones yet. Stay tuned for more updates!
