OnePlus 5 crosses 300,000 registrations within two days in China ahead of its official launch

Its just few days left for the launch of OnePlus 5 smartphone and excitement of OnePlus fans is already crossing heights. The smartphone is scheduled to be unveiled on 21st June in China and the next day i.e 22nd June in India, but it is already getting up on the list for many buyers. OnePlus 5 has apparently got over 3,00,000 registrations on JD.com even before it has been announced.

Number is of the registered buyers on the Chinese retail site only and doesn’t include the registrations done on OnePlus’s official site. We all know where the number could go if the registrations on OnePlus’s site are also revealed. OnePlus 5 is going insanely popular considering the hype that it has created with its features and design. Most of the specifications are already known with some confirmed by the company and some revealed in the leaks which is also one the reason for the smartphone’s popularity.

Recently, leaked images of OnePlus 5 popped up which gave a detailed look on its design. Although the image was not the clearest one but it gave us a better idea about the design which resembles to a previous few leaked images that we’ve seen. The new image as well shows OnePlus 5 with a design similar to that of the iPhone 7 Plus with horizontal dual rear cameras. Apart from this, we can also see a ceramic-coated fingerprint scanner below the display on the front.

Talking about the specifications, OnePlus 5 will sport a 5.5-inch 1080p touchscreen with support for the DCI-P3 color space. As already confirmed by the company, the smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC. The device is said to coming in two variants, i.e. with 6 GB and 8 GB RAM. In terms of storage, the phone has been listed to come with either 64 GB or 128 GB of UFS 2.1 storage. The smartphone will be running on OxygenOS based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

Coming down to the imaging department, OnePlus 5 is speculated to hold a dual camera setup at the back that has a 20-megapixel sensor with f/2.6 aperture and a 16-megapixel sensor with f/1.7 aperture. At front, the smartphone has been tipped to come with a 16-megapixel sensor. OnePlus has already announced its partnership with DxO to develop the camera of OnePlus 5, needless to say the company is flaunting it to be the best smartphone camera ever.
