Nokia 5 goes on pre-orders from today in India: Price, specifications and other details

As it was scheduled, the Nokia 5 smartphone goes off for pre-orders from today in India. The smartphone was launched along side Nokia 3 and Nokia 6 last month in the country. While Nokia 6 is going to be Amazon exclusive, the Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 are to be sold offline only, amongst which, Nokia 3 is already available for sale and the Nokia 5 is now up for pre-orders. The smartphone is priced at Rs. 12,899 and will be available in color choices of Tempered Blue, Silver, Matte Black and Copper.

Nokia, this time is going by the offline route for the Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 smartphones. As per the company, there are 400 exclusive distributors who will cover around 8,000 offline stores across the country where the smartphones will be available.

As mentioned earlier, Nokia 5 is an offline exclusive smartphone so pre-booking one might need a few efforts as it won’t be available on popular e-commerce sites like Flipkart and Amazon. All those who desire to buy the smartphone will have to find a Nokia dealer near them who is taking the pre-order and then will have to pre-book the smartphone there. However, in-spite of being up for pre-orders, the company has not yet revealed the date when Nokia 5 will be available for sale.

Coming down to the specifications, the smartphone sports a 5.2-inch HD (720 x 1280 pixel) display with the Corning Gorilla Glass protection on top. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor along with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB storage which can be further expanded upto 128 GB via microSD card. The smartphone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Stock Android interface on top.

The optics of the Nokia 5 include, a 13 MP rear camera along with an 8 MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. It packs a 3,000 mAh battery and includes 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and USB OTG support  as connectivity options. The sensors included are Accelerometer (G-sensor), ambient light sensor, e-compass, fingerprint sensor, Hall sensor, gyroscope, proximity sensor, NFC (sharing).
