After the Mi 5c, the Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is all set to launch its Mi 5X, another version of its popular Mi 5 smartphone. The company has apparently confirmed that its upcoming Mi 5X smartphone will be launched on 26th July in an event in China. The highlight here is that the smartphone will be running on Android 7.1 Nougat based MIUI 9 which is the latest version of MIUI and was said to be released before 16 August.
Xiaomi through its Weibo account, posted a teaser of the smartphone according to which the Mi 5X will be launched on 26th July in China. The teaser image shows actor Kris Wu holding the smartphone revealing its rear panel where we can clearly see a dual camera set-up along with a dual-LED flash and a centrally placed fingerprint scanner.
The teaser also mentions that the smartphone will be running on MIUI 9 which is the premium highlight apart from the dual rear cameras. MIUI 9 is the upcoming user interface from Xiaomi, where the company had already confirmed that it will be rolled out before 16th August. The new UI is yet to be announced by Xiaomi, and it is most likely to be announced along side Mi 5X. Xiaomi had recently listed the smartphones that will get MIUI 9 before 16 August, hence we can expect that the beta version will roll out soon after the announcement.
As per previous leaks, the Xiaomi Mi 5X is speculated to sport a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) display and is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 625 SoC paired with 4 GB of RAM. The Xiaomi Mi 5X is expected to come in Black, Gold and Rose Gold color options and will most probably cost around 1999 yuan (Rs. 19,000 approx). With this being said, the exact details about the smartphone and the latest MIUI 9 will be known at the time of launch only.
