Motorola has launched the successor to its Moto 360, which is perhaps the most famous Android Smartwatch in the world. The second generation of Moto 360 was launched yesterday at IFA event in Berlin, Germany. Here’s all you should know about the new Moto 360:
The second generation Moto 360 may look similar to its predecessor, but a lot of improvements have been made in aspect to its design and hardware. For instance, the new Moto 360 is powered by 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor rather than TI OMAP processor in its previous version. It also has 512 MB RAM and 4 GB of internal storage. It is dust and water-resistant with IP67 certification. It also has various built-in sensors like optical heart rate sensor, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and gyroscope sensor.
The second generation Moto 360 can be completely customized with the famous Moto Maker. It will allow you to personalize your watch with over 300 combinations. The new Moto 360 comes in two different screen sizes, one with a 1.56 inch screen and another with a 1.37 inch screen.
The 1.56 inch screen variant offers 360×300 pixels LCD display with pixel density of 233ppi. The case of the watch measures 46 mm and has 400mAh battery. It will be available silver, black, and gold cases, bezels, and bands, as well as black and cognac leather bands.
The 1.37 screen variant has 360×325 pixels display with pixel density of 263ppi. The case measures 42 mm and has a 300mAh battery. It will be offered in silver, gold, or rose gold cases, bezels, and bands, as well as blush and grey leather bands and a blush double wrap band.
Along with the new Moto 360, company also launched its sport variant dubbed as Moto 360 Sport. It has “AnyLight” hybrid display and connectivity features like Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, GPS. The Moto 360 Sport, as the name implies, is all about tracking your fitness and exercise. It will help you in tracking your heart rate, speed and distance travelled. It comes with a special UV coating and waterproof silicone body.
The price for the new Moto 360 starts from $299 (approx Rs.19,800).
