After several leaks and rumours from a while, Motorola has finally unveiled the much awaited Moto X4 at IFA 2017. The smartphone as it was rumoured, comes with a premium design and number of features that are turning a lot of heads towards it. As far as the availability is concerned, the smartphone is said to go on sale in Europe in September, which will be followed by other markets. The Moto X4 is priced at EUR 399 (Rs. 30,300 approx) and comes in as another mid-range smartphone from Motorola. The smartphones comes in new Super Black and Sterling Blue colour options.
Talking about the specifications, the smartphone sports a 5.2-inch Full-HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) IPS display with with Corning Gorilla Glass protection on top. It is powered by a 2.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 508 GPU. The device comes with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB of internal storage, however we can also expect a 4 GB variant when it is launched in India, similar to the recently launched Moto G5S Plus. The Moto X4 runs on on Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box.
In the optics department, the smartphone consists of a dual camera setup at the rear with one 12 MP, f/2.0 aperture, dual autofocus sensor and another 8 MP ultra-wide angle sensor with 120-degree field of view and f/2.2 aperture. The rear camera comes with a dual tone LED flash and PDAF. The camera features include, ultra-wide angle shot, professional mode, depth detection and depth effects, selective Focus, selective Black & White (beta), background replacement (beta), spot colour, landmark/object recognition, panorama mode, slow-motion video, and best shot. Upfront we are looking at a 16 MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. It comes with features like adaptive low light mode, selfie panorama, face filters, beautification mode, and professional mode, enough to cater the needs of selfie lovers.
Design wise, the Moto X4 holds a metal uni-body with a fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button and comes with IP68 rating, making it water and dust resistant. The smartphone packs a 3,000 mAh battery with fast charging support that delivers 6 hours of power in 15 minutes of charge. The premium highlight of the smartphone is that it comes with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for voice based search assistant options. The Moto X4 also comes with new three-finger screenshot gesture, and comes with an inbuilt password manager called Moto Key. The latest Bluetooth support brings the ability to allow it to sync with four speakers or headphones at one time.
The connectivity options of the Moto X4 include, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (dual band, 2.4GHz and 5GHz), NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, GLONASS, 4G LTE, and FM radio support.
