Moto G6 Play renders surface online; to come with 18:9 display and fingerprint scanner in the Moto dimple!

It was only a few days ago that there was a massive leak about Motorola’s upcoming phones, followed by, some more rumored phone specifications and news about the upcoming phone launches. Along the similar lines, a new video has come up online, which shows a Moto G6 series phone in 360 degrees. The new phone will be a successor to the Moto G4 Play and is called Moto G6 Play.

From the first look at the images/video, the Moto G6 Play appears to have glass protection on the front and the back. Between the two layers of glass, is sandwiched, an aluminum metal unibody. The images show that the Moto G6 Play will also feature an iconic ring-shaped LED flash, which was last seen on the Moto X4.

Another interesting bit of information is about the fingerprint sensor, which, according to reports, will be embedded on the back behind the signature ‘M’ logo, and from the sound of it seems amazing. It’s relevant to note this fact because unlike the previous Moto G series phones, the company has decided to do away with the front mounted fingerprint scanners.

The Moto G6 Play will also be featuring a 5.7-inch HD+ (1440 x 720 pixel) 18:9 aspect ratio bezel-less display. The phone will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 or 450 SoC. For optics, the phone will be reliant upon a 12 MP camera on the rear with LED flash and an 8 MP selfie camera with LED flash on the front.

The Moto G6 Play will be available in two variants of 2 GB/3 GB of RAM and internal storage of 16 GB/32 GB. The smartphone is said to be running on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box and will feature a 4000 mAh battery.  As for the dimensions of the phone, the Moto G6 Play will measure 155.4 × 72.2 × 8.94 mm and is expected to be launched by the company at MWC’18.
