The much awaited Moto G5 smartphone from Lenovo is finally going to be launched on 4th April in India. The smartphone was first unveiled in MWC 2017 along with its bigger variant Moto G5 Plus which was launched on 15 March in India. Lenovo has sent invites for the launch event scheduled on 4th April and has also conveyed the same through twitter. The smartphone will be exclusively available on Amazon India.
The Moto G5 bears a 5 inch screen with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display armoured with Corning Gorilla glass 3. The smartphone is powered by a 1.4 GHz Octa-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor along with Adreno 505 GPU. The Moto G5 has two variants with 2 GB and 3 GB RAM along-side 16 GB of internal memory which can be further expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The phone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat.
For imaging, the smartphone has a 13 MP rear camera with phase detection auto-focus (PDAF) and dual-tone LED flash. Also there is a 5 MP front camera with OmniVision OV5693 sensor. The smartphone bears a 2800 mAh removable battery with 10W Rapid charging. The connectivity options includes Dual-sim support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n with dual-band support, Bluetooth 4.2, micro-USB v2.0 and GPS.
The Moto G5 contains a fingerprint sensor on the home button and also has a water-repellent nano coating along with other on-board sensors such as accelerometer, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor and gyroscope. The phone measures 144.3 x 73 x 9.5 mm and weights 144.5 gms. It comes in Lunar Gray and Fine Gold as color options.
For the price and launch offers about the smartphone, we’ll have to wait till 4th April when the phone will be actually launched. That being said, we can expect the Moto G5 to be priced between Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 14,000.
