Micromax has officially announced its Selfie 2 smartphone after listing it on the its website last week. The smartphone falls in the budget segment and highlights its front camera with some exciting features making it a selfie centric device. The smartphone is priced at Rs. 9,999 and will be available from tomorrow i.e 1st August through offline retails stores in India.
Micromax is also offering an 100 days replacement guarantee where the company will effectively replace the smartphone in case of any damage within 100 days. The offer will be valid for 100 days from the date of activation of the device. It is worth noting that this 100 days period comes under the 1 year official warranty.
The Micromax Selfie 2 sports a 5.5-inch HD (720 x 1280 pixel) display with 2.5D curved glass on top. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz Quad-core MediaTek MT6737 64-bit processor coupled with Mali T720 GPU. The device comes with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB internal storage which can be further expanded up to another 32 GB via microSD card. The Selfie 2 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat which the company again counts in as a highlight.
The imaging department, which as mentioned earlier is the premium highlight, includes an 8 megapixel Sony IM135 front camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED selfie flash. The front camera is equipped with Bokeh Mode and it also lets you take One Touch Shot for quick capture. On the rear, it has a 13 megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture and features such as Auto Scene Detection, Panorama mode and SuperPixel image mode. The smartphone also contains Gallery 4.0 which uses image and facial recognition technologies to allow users to search for photos in the gallery by recognising the face of particular person.
The Selfie 2 packs a 3,000 mAh battery to keep things ticking which is rated to deliver 250 hours of standby time, 11 hours of talk time, and 22 hours of music playback. The smartphone holds a sleek metal body with the fingerprint scanner embedded on the rear. The connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, FM radio and a 3.5 mm audio jack.
