After launching the Canvas Infinity smartphone recently, the home-grown Micromax is back with another affordable device, and this time in the tablet segment. Micromax has announced a new tablet in the budget segment dubbed as the Canvas Plex. The tablet is priced at Rs. 12,999 and will be available via retail stores across India starting from 1st September.
The highlight here is that the tablet has been launched in partnership with Eros Now and comes bundled with a one-year subscription to the service. The subscription offers you one year access to Eros Now’s library of Bollywood and regional language films, music videos, TV shows, originals and more.
The Micromax Canvas Plex sports an 8-inch HD (720 x 1280 pixel) display, and is powered by a quad core MediaTek processor. The devices comes with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB internal storage and sadly runs on Android 5.1 lollipop which is way too old.
In the optics department, the tablet comes with a very basic 5 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front camera. The tablet houses a 3,000 mAh battery to keep things ticking, which according to the company is claimed to deliver up to 168.5 hours of standby time. The connectivity options include WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and micro USB port. The Canvas Plex also comes with DTS sound technology for a better audio experience.
