Micromax being on schedule has launched its much talked Canvas Infinity smartphone in India. The smartphone as it was rumoured, highlights its display with an unusual (and trending) aspect ratio of 18:9 making it the cheapest smartphone to do so. The Micromax Canvas Infinity comes at price of Rs. 9,999 and will be available from 1st September via Amazon, while the smartphone will be up for pre-registrations from today itself.
As mentioned earlier, the smartphone comes with higher screen ratio similar to that of the high-end smartphones from LG and Samsung but the catch here is that it priced under Rs. 10,000. Talking about the specifications, the Canvas Infinity sports a 5.7-inch display with HD+ (720×1440 pixels) resolution and aspect ratio of 18:9 which interestingly, Micromax also calls as the Infinity display (Samsung has first used Infinity Display for its Galaxy S8 and S8+). The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage, which is expandable via microSD card. The device runs on Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box which is upgradable to Android 8.0 (Oreo).
In the optics department, the smartphone houses a 13 MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens, 1080p video recording and LED Flash. Upfront there is a 16 MP camera, again with f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens, LED flash, 1080p video recording, well equipped to fulfil the needs of selfie lovers.
The Canvas Infinity packs a 2,900 mAh battery which is removable. It comes with a removable metal back and also embeds a fingerprint sensor on the rear. The connectivity options include, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, USB OTG.
