Micromax could launch a new smartphone, dubbed as Micromax Canvas 5 Lite Special Edition. The ‘Lite’ variant of last year’s Canvas 5 is now listed on company’s site, though there is no information about its pricing yet.
The highlight of the Canvas 5 Lite is its rear panel which sports a beautiful maple and walnut wood finish. It features a 5-inch HD (1280 X 720 pixels) IPS display and is powered by a 1GHz quad-core MediaTek (MT6735P) processor, coupled with 3 GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory. The smartphone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
The Micromax Canvas 5 Lite sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It is backed by a 2000mAh battery which is rated to deliver up to 150 hours of standby time and a talk time of up to 4.5 hours. The dual-SIM handset offers connectivity options like 4G/3G, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Micro-USB.
Micromax is also rumored to launch the Canvas 6 Lite smartphone in upcoming months.
