LG V30 with 6-inch bezel-less FullVison OLED display, dual rear cameras and Snapdragon 835 announced

As it was scheduled, the South Korean tech giant LG has launched its much awaited V30 smartphone today at the at IFA 2017. The LG V30 was expected to be the most feature packed smartphone of 2017, carrying forward the reputation of its predecessor V20, which somewhat falls in line. Apart from V30, the company also launched the LG V30+ which comes with more internal storage. The smartphone will be available for sale in South Korea from September 21, with global rollout expected in coming weeks ahead of it.

As of now, the company hasn’t mentioned the price of the smartphone, which will most probably be revealed once the smartphone hits the shelves. However, we can expect it to be bit on the upper side as it is likely to compete with flagships from Samsung and Apple. The LG V30 will be available in Aurora Black, Cloud Silver, Moroccan Blue and Lavender Violet color options.

Coming towards the specifications, the LG V30 sports a 6-inch QHD+ (1440 x 2880 pixels) OLED FullVision display with an aspect ratio of 18:9, resolution of 538ppi and HDR10 support as it was confirmed by LG earlier. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor paired with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 3 TB via microSD card. Here the LG V30+ comes with 128 GB internal storage and apart from this, there is no other change in the specifications or design. The LG V30 runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat and one can expect that it will be updated to Android Oreo soon.

Talking about the imaging department, it consists of dual camera setup at the rear with one 16 MP sensor bearing an aperture of f/1.6 and a 71-degree wide-angle lens coupled with another 13 MP sensor with f/1.9 aperture and 120-degree wide-angle lens. As per LG, the primary 16 MP f/1.6 aperture camera and glass lens in the dual camera deliver greater light-collecting ability as well as better color reproduction than a plastic lens. The LG V30 also holds a 5 MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 90-degree wide-angle lens.

The smartphone houses a 3,300 mAh battery to power itself and also comes with Quick charge 3.0 and wireless charging support. It also has a rear mounted fingerprint scanner along with a voice and face recognition sensor. The LG V30 comes with a 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC powered by Bang & Olufsen and also bundles earphones manufactured by B&O Play with three digital filters to clear out proper sound by changing the decibel values and frequencies. It also comes with support for Master Quality Authenticated (MQA) technology for high-resolution audio streaming. The connectivity option of the smartphone include, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, USB Type-C 2.0. The LG V30 measures 151.7 x 75.4 x 7.3 mm and weighs 158 grams.
