After making the Q6 official a few days ago, LG has now announced its Q8 smartphone which is apparently the smaller version of LG V20. The LG Q8 becomes the latest addition in the new Q series from the company after the Q6, Q6+ and Q6a. The smartphone has been launched in Italy and will be available at 599.90 GBP (Rs. 50,000 approx.) on Amazon starting July-end in Titan color. Its availability in India or other markets around the world, however is still unknown.
Design wise the smartphone looks similar to the LG V20 but is only smaller. The LG Q8 sports a 5.2-inch Quad HD display along with a 2.1 inch (160 x 1040 pixels) secondary IPS quantum display and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 on top. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor along with Adreno 530 GPU. The device comes with 4 GB RAM and 32 GB UFS 2.0 internal storage which can be further expanded up to 2 TB via microSD card. The LG Q8 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat.
Coming towards the imaging department, the smartphone holds a dual camera setup at the rear with a 16 MP, f/1.8 aperture primary sensor and an 8 MP, f/2.4 aperture secondary sensor. The rear camera is equipped with Laser AF, OIS and 4K video recording support. The smartphone also houses a 5 MP camera with f/1.9 aperture upfront for selfies and video calls.
The LG Q8 packs a 3,000 mAh non-removable battery with Quick Charge 3.0. The smartphone also holds IP67 certification which makes it water and dust resistant. Another highlight of the smartphone is the inclusion of 32-bit Hi-Fi ESS SABRE ES9218 Quad DAC audio technology for a clearer sound by minimizing distortion and ambient noise by up to 50%. The LG Q8 has got a rear mounted fingerprint sensor and also contains an Infrared sensor for controlling other IR based devices. The connectivity options include 4G LTE, dual-band WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C. The smartphone measures 149 x 71.9 x 8 mm and weighs 146 g.
