After a long sequence of teasing on Lenovo India’s Twitter channel over the launch of upcoming “Lenovo Z2 Plus”, the company has finally started sending invites for an event in the National capital for the launch of this smartphone on September 22.
Lenovo Z2 Plus is being said as a renamed model for Lenovo Zuk Z2 which is already launched in China earlier this year. Seems like Lenovo has removed the Zuk branding for Indian market. Lenovo Z2 Plus is expected to be identical with Zuk Z2 in terms of hardware while with some updates in software.
As far as specifications are concerned, the Z2 Plus sports a 5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) LTPS 2.5D curved glass display. It is powered by one of the most powerful processor the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 at a clock speed of 2.15 GHz with Adreno 530 GPU. This could be the cheapest smartphone with such powerful processor. The processor is paired by 4 GB of RAM.
The Lenovo Z2 Plus features 13-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash, f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), dual-mode focus and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and 80-degrees of wide viewing angle. It comes with 64 GB internal memory which is not expandable.
The Lenovo Z2 Plus comes with a U-Touch feature for navigation and controlling other features. The U-Touch button will also double up as the fingerprint scanner, which is capable to scan even when fingers are moist or wet. It is a dual-Sim 4G LTE smartphone running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with ZUI 2.0. on top. It is backed by 3500 mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging support. It supports VoLTE and USB 2.0 Type-C port.
The pricing for Indian market is still under covers and will be revealed on the launch event only. However, the Lenovo Zuk Z2 was launched in China at 1,799 yuan (approx. Rs. 18,300) in May this year, let’s see how Lenovo positions it in the Indian market.
