As scheduled, Lenovo has finally launched the ‘Lenovo Z2 Plus’ in India at a price tag of Rs. 19,999 for the 4 GB RAM + 64 GB variant. The 3 GB RAM + 32 GB variant is priced at Rs. 17,999. This is a renamed version of the Lenovo Zuk Z2 smartphone which was launched in China earlier this year. It will be available from 25th September midnight on Amazon.in exclusively.
As far as specifications are concerned, the Lenovo Z2 Plus sports a 5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) LTPS 2.5D curved glass display engraved in Fiber glass frame with pixel density of 441 ppi. It is powered by one of the most powerful processor the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 at a clock speed of 2.15 GHz with the Adreno 530 GPU.
The Lenovo Z2 Plus features a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash, f/2.2 aperture, 0.1 sec PDAF, Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), dual-mode focus with 4K recording, HD Slowmo videos at 120 fps and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and 80-degrees of wide viewing angle. It comes in two variants – 3 GB DDR4 RAM with 32 GB inbuilt storage and 4 GB DDR4 RAM with 64 GB inbuilt storage. There is no memory expandability option.
The Lenovo Z2 Plus comes with a U-Touch 2.0 feature for navigation and controlling, it is Lenovo’s patented technology and can perform 7 different functions. The U-Touch button also doubles up as the fingerprint sensor, which is capable to scan even when fingers are moist or wet.
Lenovo has also focused in the fitness and activity department and the phone comes with U-Health app, which let’s you track all your fitness activities.
It is a dual-sim 4G LTE smartphone running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with ZUI 2.0. on top. It is backed by a big 3500 mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging support and intelligent charge cut-off technology. It supports VoLTE and USB 2.0 Type-C. It will come in two colour variants – White and Black.
It is worth noting that, Lenovo has priced this phone under the Rs. 20,000 mark which makes it the cheapest phone in India to come with Snapdragon 820 chipset. Also, its price is significantly lower compared to its closest competitors like the Xiaomi Mi 5, OnePlus 3 or the Asus Zenfone 3. Give it a miss coz of no expandable memory.
Rs. 17,999 is not good at all to start with. Only good thing with this phone is the multi purpose home button. Rest of the things are available in Redmi 3S prime also. It's very pricy than expected.
