Lenovo A6000: 4G Smartphone Arriving in India on 16th January 2015

Lenovo has launched its affordable 4G Smartphone “Lenovo A6000” at CES 2015. The smartphone will be available in India from 16th January 2015 exclusively via e-commerce website Flipkart. The smartphone is reportedly priced at $169 (Rs. 10,500 approximately). While Flipkart has announced that the device will be priced under Rs. 10,000 in India.

This low-budget 4G smartphone is all set to take on its 4G rivals Micromax Yu Yureka and Xiaomi RedMi Note which belongs to this 4G segment in India. This launch from Lenovo is surely a sign of joining the race for this 4G segment. It will also be stealing some attention from the launch of Xiaomi’s new flagship which is expected to be unveiled on 15th January 2015.

As far as specifications go, the Lenovo A6000 flaunts a 5-inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, and it is powered by 64-bit 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor coupled with 1 GB of RAM. It has 8GB of internal storage with no word on expandability.

It also features an 8 MP rear camera along with a 2 MP front facing camera. It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat which sports the Vibe UI 2.0 skin. The device comes with a 2,300 mAh battery. The smartphone will support both TD-LTE in Band 40 and FD-LTE in Band 20, as the later would be required for Indian 4G carriers.

Lenovo has been quite busy this year with many products launching at CES like ThinkPad X1 Carbon, Vibe Xtension Selfie Flash, P90, Yoga Tablet 2, Vibe X2 Pro, and its first ever wearable device – Vibe Band VB10.

It will be interesting to see how this Lenovo A6000 will mark its place in this 4G segment in India. So, Mark the Date, 16th January it is.
