LeEco and Coolpad launch the Cool 1 smartphone with 13MP dual camera and Android 6.0 OS

LeEco recently became the largest shareholder of Coolpad when it acquired the 11 percent stake of the telecommunications equipment company. And today both the companies have joined forces to unveil their first smartphone dubbed as the Cool 1.

The USP of the Cool 1 is its 13 megapixel dual rear cameras with dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, and 4K video recording. On the front, it boasts an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with a f/2.2 aperture and 80-degree wide lens for selfie lovers. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EUI 5.6 on top and also bears a fingerprint sensor at the back.

The Cool 1 features a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) 2.5D IPS in-cell display and powered by 1.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon 652, coupled with Adreno 510 GPU. It will be offered in three variants, one with 3GB RAM and 32 GB storage, another with 4GB RAM and 32 GB storage and 4GB RAM and 64 GB storage.

The smartphone is backed by a 4060mAh battery with fast charging and offers connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac(2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and USB Type-C. It measures 152 × 74.8 × 8.2mm and weighs 167 g. It will be offered in Gold, Silver and Rose Gold color variants.

The Cool 1 is priced at 1099 yuan (approx. Rs. 11,080) for the 32 GB variant, while the same variant with 4GB RAM costs 1499 yuan (approx. Rs. 15,500). The 64 GB storage version is priced at 1699 yuan (approx. Rs. 17,130). However, there is no word on its global roll out yet.
