iMCO launches world’s first Amazon-Alexa powered smartwatch in India priced at Rs. 13,900

iMCO on Friday, 9th June announced the availability of its Alexa powered smartwatch in India. Formerly known as Cowatch, it was first launched in September last year. The smartwatch is priced at Rs. 13,999 and is available for sale via e-commerce site Yerha.com in Mineral Silver and Carbon Black color options.

The iMCO watch basically comes with all the Amazon-Alexa voice based services which includes Alarm, Alternate Timezone, Calendar, Music Bluetooth Control, Notifications, Step Counter, Heart Rate Monitor, Stopwatch, Timer, Weather and Speed Dial. iMCO Watch users will be able to activate Alexa by pressing down the crown button or by tapping the Alexa icon on the display.

The Amazon Alexa Voice Services powered by Amazon Echo, Echo Dot speakers and IFTTT on-board, users can personalize and configure watch IF App Containers to perform a required virtual action. With the iMCO watch users can also check the traffic, order a pizza or control their smart home.

The smartwatch comes with a 400 x 400 pixel AMOLED display and is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor coupled with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of inbuilt storage. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11b./g/n and Bluetooth v4.1. As mentioned earlier, the smartphone also comes with Heart rate sensor for Heart Rate Monitoring.

The smartphone runs on Android-based OS called Cronologics, which is iMCO’s own product, developed by former Google and Android developers. As per the company, the battery can keep the smartwatch running for around 32 hours in always-on mode and up to two days with the display turned off. The smartwatch also comes with IP certification which makes it water and dust resistant.

Coming down to the design, the smartwatch has a stainless steel body case along with the display and a ceramic ring. There is a single button present on the side which is used to turn the display on or off. The smartwatch is compatible with both Android (v5.0 and above) and iOS (v9.0 and above). Apart from this, the Cronologics OS, allows all the computing carry through either on the watch itself or in the cloud which certainly makes watch independent of smartphone to work.
